Chorionic villus sampling

Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) is a prenatal diagnostic test that involves taking a small sample of cells from the placenta (chorionic villi) to test for genetic abnormalities in the fetus

This test is usually performed between the 10th and 13th week of pregnancy and can detect conditions such as Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, and other chromosomal disorders. Unlike amniocentesis, CVS can be done earlier in pregnancy, allowing parents to make decisions sooner if any abnormalities are detected.

Benefits Of Chorionic villus Sampling

It provides detailed information about a wide range of genetic conditions, enabling more informed decision-making.
